– SKR & SKR Government College (A) (W), Kadapa, successfully hosted two
impactful programs today: "Drug-Free India: Need of the Hour"
in the morning session and "Fostering Adaptability in the 21st Century
Teaching Profession" in the afternoon. Both events featured G.L.N.
Prasad, Lecturer in Zoology, Government College (A), Anantapur, as the
esteemed resource person.
Morning Session:
Drug-Free India: Need of the Hour
The "Drug-Free
India" program, organized by the Department of Chemistry, aimed to
raise awareness about the pervasive issue of drug addiction. The session
commenced with a crucial keynote introduction by Dr. V. Saleem Basha,
Principal, setting the stage for the chief guest's address.
Mr. G L N Prasad
delivered an insightful talk, explaining various types of drugs, including opioids
and cannabinoids, and detailing their devastating impact on individuals and
society. He also shed light on the complex processes of addiction and
de-addiction. The newly constructed seminar hall, with its excellent
ambience, provided an aesthetic backdrop for the event, which saw the
participation of nearly 200 students and staff members. The session
concluded with students offering valuable feedback.
Afternoon Session:
Fostering Adaptability in the 21st Century Teaching Profession
In the afternoon, under
the banner of IQAC and organized by Dr. Krishna Veni, a
thought-provoking session on "Fostering Adaptability in the 21st
Century Teaching Profession" took place. Mr. G L N Prasad led a comprehensive discussion on the
significant changes in traditional classroom teaching methodologies. A
key focus was the essential shift from teacher-centric to student-centric
learning methods, preparing educators for the evolving educational
landscape.
