On the 24th of November 2023, a distinguished team comprising G L N Prasad, T Jeevan, and T Jitendra conducted an academic audit at KSN Government Degree College (A) (W). The college, with its sprawling campus under constant CC camera surveillance, presented an environment conducive to learning and safety.

One notable aspect of the college is the attention given to the security and well-being of its female students. The presence of CC cameras and the general ambiance has contributed to a sense of security among the women studying at the institution.

The establishment of a spiritual corner, adorned with a Saraswathi statue, adds a unique dimension to the college atmosphere, creating a serene environment that fosters both learning and reflection.

The Principal's chamber, with its corporate aesthetic and luxurious anti-room, reflects a commitment to professionalism. Dr. Sankaraiah, the Principal, was recognized for his exceptional leadership skills in extracting productivity from the staff and providing valuable guidance to the intellectual community.

Dr. Parveen, the IQAC Coordinator, was commended for her extraordinary organizational and documentation skills. The efforts of all departments to adopt student-centric teaching and evaluation methods, such as seminars, quizzes, and role plays, were acknowledged.

The Departments of Zoology and Botany were specifically recognized for their innovative approaches in reaching out to students, showcasing a commitment to diverse and engaging teaching methods. Similarly, the departments of commerce, linguistics, and arts displayed enthusiasm in shaping the future of their students.

The support services of the college were described as exemplary, offering expertise in various areas. The NCC wing stood out for its involvement in social activities such as plantation drives and blood donation, showcasing a commitment to community service.

The college's commitment to student development was evident in its internship programs, ensuring students are well-accommodated in real-world experiences. Meticulously organized PG coaching and student induction programs further demonstrated the institution's dedication to academic excellence.

The college was hailed for its commitment to excellence, with highly qualified lecturers, disciplined students actively participating in academic and extracurricular activities, a well-established gymnasium, and dynamic support services.

In conclusion, KSN Government Degree College (A) (W) emerges as a role model for other institutions in the state. The NSS Programme Officer, Sri Ramakrishna, orchestrated a mesmerizing display of traditional cultural events, Kolatam and Karrasamu, leaving the academic advisors spellbound. The event, held under the auspices of the National Service Scheme (NSS), showcased the rich heritage and artistic prowess embedded in these traditional dance forms. The precision and coordination displayed in the Kolatam and Karrasamu performances reflected the dedication and meticulous practice by the students. The rhythmic beats and synchronized movements captivated the academic advisors, creating an immersive cultural experience. The Kolatam and Karrasamu organized by NSS wing proved to be a remarkable showcase of cultural heritage, leaving the academic advisors in awe of the artistic talent and dedication displayed. This event not only served as a celebration of tradition but also as a testament to the importance of cultural diversity in the academic setting.

Workshop Review:

Training on Question Bank Preparation for Pathway Courses in Biological, Physical, and Computer Sciences

Overview:

The workshop organized on November 21st , 2023, to train staff members in the preparation of question banks for pathway courses in biological, physical, and computer sciences was an immensely successful and enlightening event. The session, chaired by Dr. ACR Diwakar Reddy, Principal, was held at the Examination Section and hosted by the examination committee, consisting of Dr. Chalapathy, Dr. Sahadevudu, and Sri P C Lakshmi Kanth. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of faculty members in question bank preparation, an essential aspect of curriculum development.

Speakers and Contributors:

The workshop boasted a distinguished panel of speakers and contributors. Dr. C. Madhavi and Dr. H. Pallavi from the Department of Microbiology provided valuable insights into question formulation. Additionally, expertise was drawn from various departments, including S. Rajasekhar Reddy and T. Jitendra from Chemistry, Dr. Bakthavatasalam and Dr. Chandrasekhar from Physics, Dr. B Sreedevi and G L N Prasad from Zoology, Dr. D Raghuramulu and Dr. Amrutha Lakshmi from Botany. Furthermore, expert faculty members from the Departments of Computer Sciences and Geology actively participated in the workshop.

Workshop Structure:

The workshop was structured effectively, with each team assigned one or two units. The teams were tasked with preparing a comprehensive question bank encompassing multiple choice questions, fill in the blanks, true or false, and match the following patterns. The emphasis on incorporating Blooms taxonomy in question framing demonstrated a commitment to creating assessments that promote higher-order thinking skills.

 Highlights:

The workshop was not only informative but also hands-on, providing practical experience in question bank preparation. The allocation of specific units to teams facilitated a focused approach, ensuring thorough coverage of the course material. The collaboration among faculty members from diverse disciplines showcased the interdisciplinary nature of the workshop.

Networking and Collaboration:

The workshop fostered a collaborative environment, encouraging participants to share ideas and best practices. The exchange of knowledge and experiences among faculty members from different departments added depth to the discussions and enriched the overall learning experience.
