                                           SWARNA ANDHRA - SWACHH ANDHRA

                                                      (స్వర్ణాంధ్ర - స్వచ్చ ఆంధ్ర)

Under the Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra programme, a team of lecturers from Government Arts College, Anantapur, led by Principal Dr. P. Padmasree, visited the men's hostel on the evening of February 14, 2025. The team included Dr. T. Jitendra, Dr. E. Sreedevi, Dr. Brunda, Karanam Sudhakar, Chalapathy, Vishnu Priya, and myself.

During the visit, the Principal interacted with the students, raising awareness about waste management. She emphasized that while waste generation is inevitable, it can be minimized, repurposed, and even converted into wealth. Effective segregation—into wet, dry, and hazardous waste—is crucial, as each type requires specific handling and disposal. Encouraged by the discussion, students actively participated by collecting waste around the hostel and depositing it in designated bins. Three color-coded bins—green for wet waste, blue for dry waste, and red for hazardous waste—were provided for systematic disposal.

Following this, the Principal and the lecturers visited the hostel mess, assessing the kitchen and dining hall conditions. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Jitendra proposed implementing study hours for hostel inmates to support their academic growth.

I feel privileged and grateful to have been part of such a meaningful and impactful initiative.
