As a Resource Person for Newly Admitted Medicos at Govt Medical College 

                         A Rare Privilege: Reflections on a Session with Newly Admitted Medicos

I was honoured to be invited as a resource person by Dr. Padma Sravani Sagi, Department of Pharmacology, Government Medical College, Anantapur, to deliver a talk on "Moral Values and Communication Skills" for newly admitted medical students. The session, originally scheduled for 24th September 2026, was advanced to 16th September 2026 and held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

Over the course of the hour, I engaged with the young medicos on a range of interconnected themes — morals and ethics, the psychology of dual standards, split and multiple personalities, and the often-overlooked subject of money management. Weaving these topics together allowed the discussion to move beyond textbook definitions of ethics into the real, everyday dilemmas that shape character and professional conduct — dilemmas these future doctors will inevitably encounter in their careers.

Interacting with a room full of bright, curious minds at the very threshold of their medical journey was, without exaggeration, one of the rarest privileges I have experienced. There is something deeply gratifying about speaking to students at this formative stage — before the pressures of clinical life set in — when values, self-awareness, and financial discipline can still be nurtured as foundational habits rather than afterthoughts.

I am grateful to Dr. Padma Sravani Sagi and the Department of Pharmacology for this opportunity, and I hope the session leaves the students with a few lasting reflections as they begin their careers in medicine.
