Bharath Vikas Parishath
organized the Bharath Ko Jano quiz programme for school children of Junior and
Senior levels. I was invited to conduct it as quiz master by Sri Namsev
Harikrishna, whom I have known since my college days, and Sri Sunku Venugopal. This
was the fourth consecutive year in which I had the privilege of serving as quiz
master for this programme.
Six teams took part at
the Senior level and five at the Junior level. I prepared 64 questions for each
level. The questions were presented in PowerPoint mode, so every team could
read each question clearly and follow the proceedings. The answers were discussed
at the end of the quiz, which gave the students a chance to learn the correct
answers and clear their doubts. Mr Apramey acted as scorer and kept the scoring
accurate and transparent.
- Senior
level: The Kurnool team was declared the
winner.
- Junior
level: The Anantapur team was declared the
winner.
The students from every
participating team showed enthusiasm, good general awareness and a healthy
competitive spirit
Sri Korada Ramakrishna
sir coordinated the event meticulously, and the programme ran smoothly and on
schedule. Breakfast and lunch were sumptuous, and the participants and guests
were well looked after.
In the post-lunch
session, the winners and all participants were felicitated with mementoes and
certificates. The programme ended with the national anthem.
The programme was a
rewarding experience. It encouraged students to read widely and think about
India's culture, heritage and current affairs. My thanks to Bharath Vikas
Parishath, the invitees, the coordinator, the scorer, the participating teams
and their teachers for making the event a success. I look forward to being part
of it again next year.
